Strengthening Community Awareness Through Sexual and Reproductive Health Education

Cox's Bazar 22 July 2026

The Youth Alliance for Sustainable International Development (YASID) officially launched its Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Programme in Pal Para, Khurushkul Union, Cox's Bazar, on 22 July 2026, marking the beginning of the programme's engagement with the community.

The inaugural session brought together 25 women and adolescent girls to participate in an interactive learning experience designed to improve knowledge of sexual and reproductive health. Using the LETS Module, the session covered essential topics including menstruation, the menstrual cycle, physical and emotional changes during adolescence, and menstrual hygiene management.

Participants actively engaged in discussions, asked questions, and shared their experiences in a safe and supportive environment. The session focused on providing accurate, evidence-based information while addressing common misconceptions surrounding menstrual and reproductive health. It also encouraged participants to adopt healthy practices and make informed decisions about their well-being.

As the first SRH session in Pal Para, the programme represents an important step toward strengthening community awareness and promoting open dialogue on issues that are often considered sensitive. By creating opportunities for learning and discussion, YASID aims to empower women and adolescent girls with the knowledge and confidence needed to make informed health choices.

YASID remains committed to expanding access to quality sexual and reproductive health education and fostering healthier, more informed, and resilient communities across Cox's Bazar.
