Our Leadership: The Story of Kysar Hamid

YASID was born from a personal conviction that the youth of Cox’s Bazar are not just a demographic to be managed, but a force to be unleashed. Our Executive Director, Kysar Hamid, began his journey in 2010 as a student volunteer. Witnessing firsthand the systemic barriers facing his peers, from financial dropouts to the 2017 refugee crisis, he realized that traditional aid often overlooked the potential of local youth leadership.

The "Why" Behind YASID Kysar founded YASID in 2020 to bridge the gap between passion and professional skill. His vision of "Quality Volunteerism" ensures that young people don't just "help," but gain the English fluency, digital literacy, and management skills necessary to compete in a global economy. Today, he leads a team that has trained over 650 youth, proving that local leaders are the most effective agents of sustainable change.

In our social cohesion work, we prioritize do-no-harm principles to build trust between host and refugee communities.
